A Little Act of Kindness A New Vic Borderlines documentary has put volunteers centre stage to celebrate their importance in community life. Working in partnership with Keele University, New Vic Borderlines presented A Little Act of Kindness at the theatre-in-the-round in front of an audience of community groups, academics and delegates from volunteering organisations.
The performance formed the final phase of research pilot Understanding Personal Communities, which has been supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Presented in the New Vic’s documentary tradition, A Little Act of Kindness saw Borderlines members take to the stage to tell the stories of people who volunteer at Ford Green Hall, the Etruria Industrial Museum and the New Vic. Susan Moffat, Director of New Vic Borderlines, said: “A Little Act of Kindness brought the human impact of volunteering to the stage and showed how it can help to build better communities.” |
