Top marks from the toughest critics!

The New Vic’s toughest critics have given the thumbs up to the theatre’s festive spectacular A Christmas Carol.

Dozens of letters, pictures and reviews of the Dickens classic, adapted and directed by New Vic Artistic Director, Theresa Heskins, have landed on the doorstep of the theatre-in-the-round from schoolchildren across Staffordshire and beyond.

A Christmas Carol is being brought to the stage by the same creative team behind the theatre’s Alice in Wonderland last year, a show which was recently been nominated for Best Show for Children and Young People in the Theatre Awards UK.

Theresa Heskins said: “Many of the children who come to see our Christmas show are having their first ever experience of theatre, and seeing and reading their pictures and letters gives us a valuable insight into what’s impressed them about the production and lets us share some of their excitement and enthusiasm – we love receiving them!”
