New Vic Theatre launches search for budding young performers

25th May 2018

The New Vic Theatre has launched a regional talent search for budding young performers to appear in its production of The Wind In The Willows this Christmas.

The theatre-in-the-round is looking for boys and girls aged from 9 to 14 to take part in a Summer School at the end of which a number will be offered places in the production.

Taking place from Tuesday 28 August to Saturday 1 September, the Summer School will see children work alongside industry creatives taking part in singing, dancing and activities.

Participants should be confident performers with strong dance and singing skills.

Jill Rezzano, Head of New Vic Education, said: “We are so lucky to have such talented and enthusiastic young people on our doorstep. Each year, Summer School is a highlight for everyone involved. We are greatly looking forward to welcoming the next generation of New Vic Young Company members to the New Vic and getting started with singing, dancing and drama workshops all based on The Wind In The Willows.”

The deadline for applications to take part in the Summer School is 5pm on Friday 6 July. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. The cost for this Summer School is £85.00, concessions £65.00.
