Confusions

Tuesday 6 October–Saturday 24 October 2015

A Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough production

Written and directed by Alan Ayckbourn

To mark the SJT’s 60th anniversary, Alan Ayckbourn returns to the New Vic with a revival of one of his most popular plays. “Sharp, sad and funny” (The Guardian), Confusions was last seen at the Library Theatre, Scarborough, in 1974.

From a devoted and isolated mother, to her unfaithful travelling salesman husband; a solicitous waiter to well-heeled diners; and not forgetting an utterly shambolic garden fête. Human frailty is laid bare as one hilarious situation after another unfolds.

From high farce to poignant observation; the laughs, however dark, just keep on coming.
