The final line of Arnold Bennett’s exuberant novel The Card concludes that its hero Denry Machin will forever be identified with ‘the great cause of cheering us all up.’

Music was a huge part of Bennett’s life. It featured often in his work, and even more frequently in his life.

Join The Phoenix Singers and friends for a joyful evening, celebrating the great Potteries writer through the music of his life and times.
