by William Shakespeare, directed by Conrad Nelson

New Vic favourites Northern Broadsides return with a beautiful and beguiling love story. a joyous tale culminating in forgiveness, harmony and happiness performed by a charismatic cast of actor-musicians. it will warm your heart and lift your spirits.

The Winter’s Tale is a rich, romantic fable of jealousy, love and redemption. King Leontes falsely accuses his Queen of infidelity. He proclaims their newborn daughter a bastard and condemns the innocent to death. But the child, Perdita, survives.

You will be transported from the dark Court of a jealous king to the bright sunshine of a rustic festival, where country girls sing saucy songs and a Prince can utter marriage vows to a lowly shepherd’s daughter … and we believe it!
