Summer Holiday fun for local young people

27th July 2018

New Vic Education is holding a double-whammy of fun-filled activities for young people this summer.

First up, Play In A Week runs from Tuesday 31 July to Saturday 4 August – with a chance to perform at Astley Fest!

Come and work with our Youth Theatre Director to create a circus themed play in a week! We will create a brand new short play, have a circus workshop and find a way of merging theatre and circus in our very own production.

This year’s Play In A Week marks the 250th anniversary of circus and will therefore be being performed as a curtain raiser at the “Roll Up, Roll Up” performance in Lyme Valley Park.

Please note all rehearsals will be in our New Vic Studio (Tues-Fri) with the performance being at Lyme Valley at 14.30 on the Saturday.

Ages: 11-16
Dates: 31 July – 4 August
Times: 10.00-16.00 (Tues-Fri)
10.00-15.30 (Sat)

Show at 14.30 Saturday (please get picked up from Lyme Valley)

(Bring a packed lunch with you)

Next, aspiring film makers will be in for a treat at Summer Film Club.  Do you love going to the cinema? Have you ever wondered what does into creating the world that you see on screen? Would you like to have a go at performing and making your own mini films?

Then Summer Film Club is for you! Working with an experienced TV filmmaker and our Youth Theatre Director, you will get the opportunity to learn about how film is made and have a go at creating your own.
You will do a range of activities from performing to designing your poster!

Film Club is where technology and inspiration meet! You don’t need to be technical – you just need to come along with a vivid imagination and a passion for film!

Ages: 12-16
Dates: 6-8 August
Times: 10-00 – 16.00
Cost: £65/£45 concessions
(Bring a packed lunch with you)
