Xuefei Yang

Xuefei Yang is one of the world’s leading classical guitarists, known for her distinctive artistry and international career. Born in Beijing, she became the first guitarist in China to study at a music school and has since performed in more than 50 countries, appearing at major venues and collaborating with artists including Ian Bostridge, Roberto Alagna and Sir James Galway.

Her recent schedule includes recital tours across the United States and Australia, debuts at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Colorado Music Festival, and a return to Wigmore Hall. Xuefei’s recordings have earned international acclaim, chart success and multiple awards, with Gramophone recognising her as a leading innovator of her generation.

She has appeared on BBC Radio 4, the BBC Proms and China Central Television, and is listed by Classic FM among the top 100 classical musicians of our time.

Xuefei has been a popular performer at ArtsKeele since 2014, and is appearing at the New Vic as part of our annual jointly promoted concert with ArtsKeele.
