New Vic Education Production

Written by Katharine Boon
Directed by Ruth Carney
Part of The Philip Astley Project's AstleyFest

Mesmerised by a man she saw riding through her hometown on horseback, a young girl spends her days dreaming of escaping her humdrum life and running away to join the circus.

Philip Astley is not an easy man to find however, and the more her family tell her that his story is a myth, the more she starts to believe it. Until one day she learns her hero is about to open something called an Amphitheatre, and inspired, she sets off to find him…

Can the girl make it to the grand opening of Astley’s Amphitheatre? And if she gets there, will she find her hero and make her dreams come true?

Roll Up, Roll Up is a heartwarming story about following your dreams and believing in yourself. Performed by a community company and choir, this fun, vibrant play will take families of all ages on a journey to celebrate the wonder of circus with laughter, song and characters that you’ll fall in love with!

Tickets FREE, but booking required – call New Vic Box Office on 01782 717962

Roll Up Roll Up is part of the The Philip Astley Project’s Astleyfest in Lyme Valley Park, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The Philip Astley Project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
