ERIC CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF MUSICAL MERRYMAKING

15th May 2024

This week marks the 25th anniversary of the first appearance of David Graham’s legendary character ‘Eric’. A beloved figure at the New Vic famous for his comedic escapades and foot-tapping shows, Eric has brought joy, laughter, non-stop hits and even a gorilla costume or two to the New Vic stage since 1999.

Debuting with, Itchycoo Park, a sell-out show based on a fictitious Festival of Love & Peace, Eric quickly gained a reputation for his hilarious shows and fantastic musical repertoire. A staggering 50+ productions later, Eric’s loyal audience have returned year after year to join in with all the fun and games.

Getting by with a little help from friends ‘Dennis’, ‘Hippie Dave’, ‘Bev’, ‘Gordon’ and many more, Eric has taken on murder mysteries, adventures into the outback, period classics and even braved ballroom dancing in Strictly Eric, a particular favourite which will return to the New Vic stage this summer by popular demand following an audience vote in 2023.

In the meantime, Eric and friends celebrate their special anniversary in style by hosting a series of music concerts featuring well-known classics from the 1960s including The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love and The Monkees’ Daydream Believer.

Everyone is invited to Eric’s 25th party which runs from Monday 13 – Saturday 18 May! Very few tickets remain – grab yours by calling the Box Office on 01782 717962.
