The New Vic is delighted to announce that its café will be reopening to the public next month with social distancing measures.

From Monday 7 September, diners will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake in the welcoming surroundings of the New Vic again.

The café will initially be open on Mondays to Fridays, from 10.00am to 3.00pm. Tables are available to book in advance via an online booking service, which is live on the New Vic website, or diners can just arrive at the theatre on the day.

Social distancing measures will be in place to ensure diners’ safety, including:

  • Hand sanitiser available on arrival
  • Table service
  • Card payments only, to limit contact points
  • All customer-facing staff will wear face shields

The café had previously been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Head of Catering Rachel Lloyd said: “We can’t wait to re-open the New Vic café and are eagerly awaiting your return. For obvious reasons, you may find things a little different when we open up the doors. We are doing everything we can to make sure that returning to the café is welcoming and friendly whilst also putting your safety, and that of our staff, at the heart of things. We’ve missed you all and hope to see you soon.”

Online booking is available on the café website page . If you have any queries about visiting the café please email
