News about our production of Marvellous

28th July 2021

It is with huge regret that we have again been forced to postpone our forthcoming production of Marvellous, due to go into rehearsals shortly at the theatre.  The impact of covid-related absences and self-isolation has already taken its toll on the production process and we are no longer in a position to continue to develop the show with this level of disruption continuing through the coming weeks.  When we rescheduled the show to this autumn we were unaware of the situation we would face in trying to make and rehearse the show during this very challenging time, where so many people are following rules on self-isolation to support efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

We now plan to bring Marvellous to the stage in Spring 2022.

Theresa Heskins, New Vic Artistic Director said: “Through thick and thin, the prospect of doing this show has given us cause to smile. So we’re gutted that we’ve had to make the difficult decision to postpone it once again.  It’s such an important play.  We know it will offer an opportunity for a wonderful and meaningful celebration; we know it will be a story that will bring people together; we know it will spread happiness.”

We will pay our actors and freelance staff in full and hope that they will continue to be part of this wonderful show when it finally comes to the stage next year.

Our Box Office team will shortly be contacting customers who have purchased tickets for Marvellous to discuss their options.

Customers who have an existing booking will be able to retain their tickets for when the production is rescheduled; take a credit against their account to use the tickets against another production in the future, or receive a full refund.
