NEW VIC LIGHTS UP IN RED TO SHOW SOLIDARITY WITH THEATRES AND THE EVENTS INDUSTRY

11th August 2020

The New Vic was flooded with red light yesterday evening as we pledged our support for theatres and the events industry as part of the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) #WeMakeEvents campaign’s #RedAlert day of action.

We joined our colleagues in theatres across the country as part of the #LightItInRed campaign to highlight the increasingly challenging situation faced by theatres and the events industry, and particularly for freelancers who work with us and whose livelihoods have been dramatically affected by the coronavirus crisis.

The New Vic is currently undergoing a major refurbishment to its auditorium. Once that is complete, we hope to get back to doing what we do best – putting on world-class events for local and national audiences – as soon as possible. #LightItInRed is a collective effort to get the industry’s voice heard, calling for sustained financial support.
