Madula – Joined by a drum

Mon 29 Apr

Madula, New Vic Borderlines and MamaMusic present

‘Joined by a Drum’ is a showcase of work done across communities and age groups, celebrating diversity through Ugandan rhythms, stories and music.

This exciting showcase and concert is a culmination of an international creative partnership with Madula and MamaMusic School Uganda, joined in the UK by New Vic Borderlines.

Madula delivers creative & cultural projects for children, young people & community groups across The Midlands, developing social cohesion, empowering people & reducing isolation through music, dance & other creative engagements.

New Vic Borderlines is the award-winning initiative using theatre in social contexts. It works regionally, nationally and internationally, using theatre and creativity to help people find new and positive ways to understand themselves, their communities and their responsibilities. Creating stories of who we are today and celebrating the richness and diversity of the world we all share.

‘Joined by a Drum’ will showcase the amazing work that has taken place across the community with performances ranging from primary school children to seniors form U3A, as well as young people who have found safety in the UK having left wars and conflict behind them

The evening will also celebrate Madula’s exchange project with MamaMusic School (Kampala, Uganda) featuring director Adam Lwandaga, Diana Lwanga, Bantu Arts & the Madula team performing plus an extravagant finale from Mr Will Music!

THIS EVENT IS FREE THANKS TO SPONSORSHIP FROM MADULA, NEW VIC BORDERLINES AND MAMAMUSIC.
