“Join us for the New Vic's 30th Anniversary Gala”

30th Anniversary Gala

Friday 25 November 2016

Hosted by Ian Dudson CBE
Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire

Enjoy a very special evening whilst raising funds for the next 30 years of theatre-making and life-changing work with the community.

In true New Vic style, a memorable and entertaining time including:
• champagne reception
• performance of The Snow Queen
• and birthday cake

Thirty years ago, local people raised more than £1 million to build a New Theatre here in North Staffordshire, a new home for the Victoria Theatre Company which, since 1962, had been based in a converted back-street cinema. What a fantastic achievement that was! And what a beautiful building they helped to create.

The New Vic opened in 1986, becoming the first purpose-built, theatre-in-the-round in Europe. The company has flourished in this wonderful building – more than 150,000 visitors every year, our productions winning national plaudits, the quality of our life-changing work with local communities acknowledged nationally and internationally.

This 30th anniversary year has been an opportunity to celebrate and to thank everyone who has contributed to the theatre’s success. But it’s also a time to look to the future. Enjoy a great night out – and help us reach our £300,000 target That’s why we launched our 30th Anniversary Appeal, setting ourselves the challenge of raising £300,000 by the end of this anniversary year. The New Vic is an Arts and Education charity and every penny raised will be invested in our work: making international-class theatre; delivering life-changing education and community programmes; and looking after our iconic and much-loved building.

We have raised more than £225,000 so far and hope you can help us make the final target. One way you can support us is to book tickets for our 30th Anniversary Gala. We’re hoping to raise £30,000 on the evening through tickets sales and other activities. And you’ll get to enjoy a special night out whilst raising vital funds, helping to ensure that the next 30 years are as successful as the last.
