Circus took over the streets of Stoke-on-Trent last week, when the New Vic’s Community Circus Tour visited The Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley, The Ballroom in Fenton Town Hall and the Betty Rushton Community Gardens.
Delivered by Upswing as part of the New Vic and Upswing’s Circus Theatre Partnership, Throwdown saw three skilled performers compete in a display of high energy challenges for audiences and passers-by. Throwdown then invited young people to try out some new skills for themselves in free 45-minute acrobatic workshops.
The Circus Community Tour allowed audiences to get a taste of the action before Upswing’s sister show, Showdown, took to the stage at the New Vic from Thursday 8 until Saturday 10 May.
