A host of new events have been added to the New Vic’s spring 2026 line-up including appearances from icon of stage and screen, Sir Derek Jacobi and Britain’s Got Talent magician Ben Hart; performances by world renowned musicians Albert Lee, The Blockheads and Lindisfarne, comedy favourites Mark Simmons and Alfie Moore and a variety of other concerts that offer something for everyone to enjoy.
Looking for Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood celebrates the life and work of the fondly remembered comedienne on Wednesday 18 February mixing nostalgia and laughs in an evening of pure joy filled with Victoria’s best-loved songs.
Vocalist and BBC Proms regular, Matt Ford, alongside his band of world-class musicians, take audiences back to a world of wit, romance, and timeless sophistication in a celebration of the genius of Cole Porter onMonday 23 February in Broadway to Hollywood: The Cole Porter Songbook,before rock band The Watch present Genesis: Tales from 1970-1976– an entertaining journey into the world of the legendary rock band GenesisonMonday 9 March featuring music from their albumsTrespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound and more.
Community music organisation MADULA return to the New Vic for their annual showcase on Tuesday 17 March. This year’s event, The Next Generation, is a powerful celebration of creativity that honours the memory of their beloved founder Steve Dawson, whose vision continues to encourage and inspire new musical talent.
Master of the classic one-liner Mark Simmons will visit the theatre on Monday 2 March withJest To Impress, a brand-new show packed with his trademark off-the-cuff jokes based on random audience suggestions. Then fellow comedian Alfie Moore will discuss the important issues of the day including The Four Horsemen of Rising Crime, Global Warming, AI, Culture Wars and the price of baked beans in his show Acopalypse Now on Thursday 19 March.
Returning to the theatre for more mayhem on Friday 20 March, Send In The Clowns present Unpopular – a filthy, outrageous, and joyful drag revue show inspired by the magic and madness of musical theatre.
Continuing our celebration of musical greats this spring, the UK’s number one Downtown-Nashville & Honky Tonk Experience One Night In Nashville takes to the stage on Saturday 21 March featuring the biggest modern country hits from Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood, alongside a tribute to idols, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and more. A splendid time is guaranteed for all when internationally acclaimed tribute artist and former member of The Bootleg Beatles, Tyson Kelly, presents an unforgettable and intimate evening celebrating the legacy of John Lennon in Imagine Lennon onWednesday 15 April.
Following sold-out shows around the world, magician Ben Hart returns to the New Vic with a brand-new show on Monday 20 April featuring his most astonishing illusions and impossible tricks yet. Later in the month, on Monday 27 April, legendary 70s folk-rock pioneers LINDISFARNE will bring a classic five-piece line up of long-time members fronted by original founder-member Rod Clements on vocals, mandolin, fiddle and slide guitar to perform Fog On The Tyne and other classic songs from their illustrious career.
Two world renowned guitarists take to the stage in May: described by Acoustic Guitar Magazine as possessing ‘multi-dimensional gifts, imagination and fearless artistic sensibility’ Laura Snowden performs aselection from her captivating repertoire of classical, folk and contemporary music onWednesday 6 May whilst Albert Lee, one of the most respected and legendary guitarists in music history,will be sharing anecdotes from his life on the road and tales of artists he has worked with during his illustrious career includingThe Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and The Crickets on Friday 8 May.
Legendary actor Sir Derek Jacobi, star of classic screen greats such as Gladiator, I, Claudius and Last Tango In Paris,will be appearing in conversation with Richard Clifford onThursday 7 May. The award-winning actor will be discussing his phenomenal career to date, offering fascinating anecdotes and unique insights behind-the-scenes of his work in this truly unmissable evening.
Completing the season’s musical line-up on Saturday 9 May The Blockheads, one of the 1970’s most loved bands, will perform classic songs spanning five decades including What a Waste, Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll; thenon Monday 1 June The Fleetwood Mac Experience pay tribute to one of the most famous rock groups of all time, showcasing smash-hits including Go Your Own Way and Don’t Stop – a must-see concert for Fleetwood Mac fans.
Finally, the incomparable Ballet Cymru present a new and strikingly original vision of Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty onMonday 8 June. Featuring innovative choreography, exceptional dancing, distinctive costumes, and immersive video projections, this performance will be a journey like no other.
