NEW VIC BORDERLINES CELEBRATE 200 YEARS OF LOCAL RAILWAY WITH INTERACTIVE EXHIBITION TRACKS THROUGH TIME

14th January 2026

New Vic Borderlines celebrate the legacy of local railway workers through a free interactive exhibition, Tracks Through Time, taking place at Crewe Station from Thursday 15 to Monday 19 January.

Developed in partnership with Foxfield Steam Railway, Community Railway Partnership and Avanti, Tracks Through Time honours the extraordinary contributions of women, disabled people, and ethnically diverse staff both past and present to the railway system over the last 200 years. Displaying hidden or less known contributions to the railway network, the exhibition celebrates the legacy of the local railway workforce by sharing real stories and connecting communities through authentic storytelling.

Bringing to life historical insights and oral testimonies, the exhibition includes photographs, transcripts, recorded histories, and community co-created art and audio. Amplifying voices to ensure that the lived experience of local communities remains seen and heard, Tracks Through Time offers a new and engaging perspective on the value of local contribution to the railway system and preserves untold histories for future generations.

Tracks Through Time will be exhibited on the platform adjacent to Railway 200’s Exhibition Train, Inspiration, which will be stationed at Crewe from Thursday 15 to Monday 19 January 2026 as part of its tour of the UK. Tracks Through Time is free to attend throughout the day however booking is required for those wishing to board the Inspiration Exhibition Train.
