Hoard: Rediscovered revisits and reimagines some of the pieces created for the New Vic’s 2015 Staffordshire Hoard Festival, originally developed in conjunction with the support of National Theatre Studio.

Digitally reimagined for socially distanced audiences, join us for an evening discovering secrets of buried treasure that will grip your imagination.

Unearthed

Written and directed by Theresa Heskins

A documentary-drama in the New Vic tradition, hear the words of the people who found an astonishing hoard of gold in a Staffordshire field, and the story of the experts who tried to unravel its meanings.

How was the Hoard hidden? Who by? And why?

Please note: Contains some strong language.

Mini-Plays in the bar

Following Unearthed, join us in the bar and lose yourself in short monologues from characters inspired by the Staffordshire Hoard. Screened digitally, grab a drink and hear the work of some of the country’s most talented writers, as they bring the stories of the past to life.

Running time:

Unearthed – 45 minutes, no interval

Mini-Plays – 3 plays will be screened in the bar after each performance. Approximately 30 minutes long.

Tickets for Hoard: Rediscovered include a £5.00 donation to the New Vic Theatre (Charity Registration Number: 253242). You pay £15.00, however, £5.00 of the face value of the ticket will be treated as a non-refundable donation to the theatre. Your donation will help the New Vic manage the impact of Coronavirus, in particular the risk of performance cancellations, helping us to ensure we can continue the great work we do. We thank you for your support.
