Directed by Katherine Hughes
With music by Adam Pleeth

“It’s ok. I know your head’s fallen off and I just want you to know everyone’s has.”

Life. Love. Family. Navigating the perils of growing up, young people have their own unique ways to figure out what it’s all about, eventually discovering we’re really all part of the same ‘Sad Club’.

A riotous piece of gig theatre, The Sad Club mixes live music, bold new writing and laugh-out-loud comedy to give a glimpse of what growing up is like for young people today.

Suitable for all those who have ever been teenagers, this play is performed by the New Vic Youth Theatre as part of Connections.

The National Theatre’s nationwide youth theatre festival, Connections offers youth theatre groups across the country a unique chance to perform new plays written by some of theatre’s most exciting playwrights. As part of Connections 2019, the New Vic Youth Theatre will join 5,000 other talented young people from right across the UK as they inspire and entertain audiences with plays for, and about, young people, that are current, challenging and relevant. Be one of the first to see this brand new play by Luke Barnes, performed by our own talented young people.
