Education & Community

The New Vic believes in the power of theatre to change lives. We want to involve as many people as possible in both theatre-going and theatre-making.

That’s why, in addition to our programme of in-house professional productions, an extensive community involvement is central to everything we do.

Our visionary and award-winning community programmes are among the most successful in the country, involving thousands of people each year, many from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. We are tackling urgent social problems head on, building a better future for individuals and for their communities.

This important work is delivered by two theatre departments: New Vic Borderlines, which uses theatre to address the social agenda, and New Vic Education, which works particularly within formal education.
